Phantom Limb

Phantom Limb was created in collaboration with Nashville Tree Foundation and Nashville Metro Parks & Recreation in June 2024. The Nashville Tree Project aims to raise awareness about invasive species and the Emerald Ash Borer in particular. Programming includes recognition of an infestation, as well as possible mitigation strategies and solutions to this devastating epidemic. The sculpture was made by re-assembling sections of a condemned Ash tree onto the existing structure, after most of the crown was topped by city officials due to safety concerns. It lives in Shelby Park, on the southeast side of the city.
